Shona Barton

Based in Bendigo, Shona works as a business analyst on a variety of Salsa projects. She’s also our assistant GovCMS Service Desk Manager.

As a business analyst, Shona works with our clients to understand their business requirements. For site migrations, she also leads the deep dive into existing features and how they can be mapped to the new site. She uses her background in project management and database management to help our clients realise their project goals.

Shona’s GovCMS Service Desk role focuses on ensuring the smooth operation of the dev team and GovCMS client satisfaction.

Previous experience

Shona has a background as an office and database administrator, with a focus on customer service. She’s worked across the public and private sectors, as well as tertiary education and the not-for-profit sector.

Most recently, Shona worked in a data compliance role, looking after statutory reporting, database administration (including patches and upgrades) and user training. Other roles include communications manager and database administrator, and tech support for several universities.

Shona has gained a broad range of IT experience through on-the-job training and mentoring. She’s always open to learning new skills and meeting new people. Her interest in learning and thirst for knowledge is a great match for her business analyst role at Salsa.
