The details on this page represents the goal, activities, deliverables and resources for conducting a functional regression as part of a site migration project.

The functional regression is step 16 of a 24 step project delivery process Salsa has designed for migrating (or upgrading) sites from a legacy or proprietary CMS to Drupal 9.

4B: Validate

Goal

Be confident the Drupal 9 site is functionally the same as the source CMS site.

Activities

  1. Testing of user story acceptance criteria

  2. Validate all content structures, module features, search configuration, views, integrations, etc.

  3. Optional test automation framework / scaffolding with top 5 primary flows / critical processes. Option to add further flows.

  4. Issues, remediation, retesting etc.

Deliverables

  1. Signed off functionally accepted

  2. Regression test script results

  3. Known functional issues list / backlog
