The details on this page represents the goal, activities, deliverables and resources for conducting a feature mapping as part of a site migration project.

The feature mapping is step 4 of a 24 step project delivery process Salsa has designed for migrating (or upgrading) sites from a legacy or proprietary CMS to Drupal 9.

Goal

Map all source CMS site features to Drupal 8/9 site features

Activities

  1. Offline mapping of all source CMS site features to equivalent “like for like” features in Drupal 8/9

  2. Identify and capture any gaps where no like for like feature mappings are available.

  3. Workshop with stakeholder(s) / product owner to validate feature mappings and discuss alternative functionality/requirements for gaps.

  4. Document all mappings, including solution / approaches to addressing gaps

  2. High level solution direction including approach to functional gaps
