Welcome to the GovCMS Content Administration Training series. Hi, I'm Ivan from Salsa Digital and in this video, you'll learn how to log out of a GovCMS site. We'll cover the following two topics:
- How to log out of any GovCMS site by going directly to the log out page
- How to log out using the admin toolbar
How to log out
You can log out of a GovCMS site in two ways. First you can go directly to /user/logout and this will log you out or, if I just quickly log back in…
I just want to take a moment to mention that, by now you should be using two-factor authentication to log in to GovCMS. This is one of the most effective controls you have to prevent unauthorised access to accounts on your website. It's available for all Drupal 7 and 8 websites.
A video on how to log in using two-factor authentication will be available soon. In the meantime, instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication are available through the Service Desk. So with that let’s continue.
If you see the admin toolbar up here, click on your username in the top right corner, then click on log out on the left.
Now on your GovCMS site you may not have access to the admin toolbar. If that's the case then just go directly to /user/logout as I demonstrated or you can add a log out menu item on your site.
Let's now recap what we covered in this video: To log out of a GovCMS site, you can first go directly to /user/logout or, if you have access to the admin toolbar, just click on your username in the top right, then click on the Log out button on the left.
