Keeping up-to-date with current technologies and connecting with peers, is increasingly crucial as the tech industry constantly evolves at such a fast pace. But how to do this? Apart from the enormous wealth of information available online, actually getting together with people and sharing new ideas and best practices is an excellent way to learn and cultivate innovation and creativity.

There is a seemingly endless and growing number of groups that exist called MeetupsExternal Link that provide the perfect avenue for networking. The Melbourne CocoaheadsExternal Link group (a local group of the international CocoaheadsExternal Link ) is a diverse range of people including hobbyist developers, designers, freelance contractors, commercial and indie developers, who get together monthly to give presentations on a diverse range of topics related to designing, developing and shipping applications for Apple's iOS and Mac OSX platforms. The Cocoaheads community is a fantastic, supportive group who are all ears when it comes to discussing development for iOS and OSX and a perfect opportunity to connect with others in the industry.

This month one of our own developers and Amazon Web ServicesExternal Link certified Architect - Rob Amos, gave a really insightful presentation into the Amazon Web Service offerings and how they can be used as a back-end for your iOS apps. To learn more view the presentation hereExternal Link , and stay tuned for a video coming soon.
