Welcome Steve

Salsarian since 3 June 2019

Salsa is thrilled to welcome Steven Kotevski to the Salsa team. Steven is based in Salsa’s Melbourne office and has come on board as a Service Desk Agent. Steven is responsible for our dedicated GovCMS helpdesk, a service that Salsa provides to Australia’s Department of Finance to support the whole-of-government digital platform, GovCMS.

All requests are logged as ‘tickets’, which are raised via phone or Salsa’s online ticketing system. First, Steven triages the ticket, determining the ticket’s priority and actioning any requests he can (e.g. creating new accounts) or assigning the issue/ticket to the best team or person within Salsa, the Department of Finance’s GovCMS team or amazee.io. Steven then manages the ticket through the whole process, following up internally or with customers to make sure the tickets are kept moving and resolved quickly. “I’m really focused on customer service and providing the best customer experience possible.”

Steven also keeps the three teams up to date with what’s going on in the helpdesk and raises any bigger issues during the regular GovCMS meetings. He loves working with the GovCMS customers and the three teams involved. “Building relationships within Salsa and with the other two teams has been such a great experience. I’m surrounded by people who are positive and really want to do good work. And that energy makes you want to work and achieve positive outcomes too.”

About Steven

Steven holds a Diploma of Interactive Digital Media and an Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media. After finishing these qualifications, he worked in graphic design (print and web) and general IT support before taking up a contract role with Telstra. At Telstra, Steven worked as a service desk consultant supporting NAB customers for 16 months.

Why Salsa?

“I actually applied for a few helpdesk jobs at the same time, and while I had lots of interviews I was very keen to work at Salsa after my first interview. Everyone was so friendly and the atmosphere, in general, was bright and had a real energy about it. The interview questions and our discussions were interesting and different, and in the end I turned down another job offer to finish the interview process at Salsa. There’s such a great opportunity for growth and a commitment to the fact that everyone is always learning.”

Steven lives in Melbourne with his wife. Welcome, Steven! View Steven’s Salsa profile
